Sean Malone, The Fighter Actor, Dies at 54 in Drowning Accident

Sean Malone, best known for his roles in “The Fighter” and “Gone Baby Gone,” died on Wednesday in Boston after being in a coma for nine days following a drowning accident. He was 54.
The actor went out too far while swimming at a South Boston beach, according to the Boston Fire Dept.
Off-duty firefighters and passerby raced to rescue the actor on July 20, but Malone was already underwater by the time they reached him. The firefighters brought Malone to shore and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition.
“Sean Malone succumbed to his injuries this evening surrounded by his son Sean, parents and siblings at Boston Medical Center,” the Boston Fire Dept. tweeted on Wednesday.
