After being released for preorder on Mattel’s website on Monday morning, Stevie Nicks‘ first-ever Barbie version of herself sold out within minutes. Now, it’s popping up on resale sites such as Ebay for almost double the price.
The ’70s-style doll, which Mattel launched in honor of the Fleetwood Mac star’s 75th birthday, is inspired by her outfit on the cover of the iconic 1977 album “Rumours.” Those familiar with Nicks’ all-black ensembles, a style she’s honed since the ’70s, will see her likeness in the doll’s flowy-sleeved black dress, platform boots and moon-shaped pendant. Of course, it also boasts her recognizable blond bangs and smoky eye shadow, in addition to a tambourine in hand cascading with ribbons.

“When Mattel came to me asking if I would like to have a Barbie made in the ‘Rumours’ cover style I was very overwhelmed,” Nicks said in a statement. “Of course I questioned ‘Would she look like me? Would she have my spirit? Would she have my heart…’ When I look at her, I see my 27 year old self — all the memories of walking out on a big stage in that black outfit and those gorgeous boots come rushing back — and then I see myself now in her face. What we have been through since 1975 — the battles we have fought, the lessons we have learned — together. I am her and she is me. She absolutely has my heart.”

The $55 doll was released for pre-order on Monday morning, but even after being limited to 10 purchases per customer (and 30 purchases per customer on Amazon), it sold out almost immediately. While it’s no longer available on the Mattel website, it’s now being auctioned off on Ebay with listings starting at $100. Some have sold for as high as $160.
The new doll comes ahead of Nicks’ “Love in Concert” tour, which kicks off on Feb. 10 at Mark G Etess Arena in Atlantic City. Tickets for all dates went on sale on Sept. 29 but resale tickets are also available on Stubhub, Vivid Seats, Seatgeek and Ticketmaster.
